Updating/Editing a Work Item in Zymmr

Accessing the Work Item

  • Navigate to the Backlog or Work Items page.
  • Select the work item you want to edit.

Editable Fields

  1. Type: Change the type of the work item.
  2. Priority: Update the priority level.
  3. Status: Modify the current status.
  4. Title: Change the title of the work item.
  5. Description: Update the description as needed.
  6. Tags: Add or update tags associated with the work item.
  7. Affect Release: Change the affected release version.
  8. Fixed Release: Update the fixed release version.
  9. Modules: Add or change associated modules.
  10. Milestones: Add or update milestones linked to the work item.

People

  1. Primary Assignee: Assign the main person responsible.
  2. Secondary Assignee: Assign additional responsible person.
  3. Reporter: Automatically set to the person who creates the work item.

Estimates

  1. Story Point: Editable field for effort estimation.
  2. Estimated Effort: Editable field for estimated time in format (e.g., 6h 45m).
  3. Logged Time: System-collated based on time logs.
  4. Remaining Time: System-collated based on estimated effort and logged time.
  5. Auto Estimate: Smart field system-generated estimate based on title and assignee.

Timeline

  1. Start Date: Editable start date.
  2. End Date: Editable end date.
  3. Actual Start Date: System updated based on change of state.
  4. Completion Date: System generated based on end date.

Watchers

  • Add or remove watchers based on team members.

Work Item Detail Page

  1. Comments: Team members can add comments with @mentions.
  2. Attachments: Upload or remove attachments.
  3. Related Tasks: Add sub-tasks and related tasks. Opens a dialog to specify link types such as Blocker, Blocked, Clones, and select work item.
  4. Activity Logs: System-generated logs tracking all actions taken on the work item.
  5. Timelog: Log time and see details of logged time.
  6. Sprint: Change sprint and see details of sprint changes.
  7. Smart Commit: Perform smart commits for the work item.

Save Changes

  1. Ensure all updates are complete.
  2. Save the changes to apply updates to the work item.
